Membership is now from January to December of each year and is due each January 1st; if you require an invoice for business purposes, please advise Kris Burkholder, Secretary each year.

Membership includes the 3 annual issues of The Traveller for that year, and the right to vote at the annual meeting.  Current members are also granted online access to the wealth of information contained in past Traveller issues.  New members who join during the year have member privileges for the remainder of that calendar year.

/ The AGM

The Annual General Meeting is held once a year and the Executive determine where and when it will be held one or two years in advance. In recent times, the AGM has been held in the Spring of each year and it has rotated amongst locations in British Columbia, Alberta,  Saskatchewan and locations in the USA.

The 2022 WCWA AGM was held on August 20, 2022 at Heritage Park in Calgary, Alberta.  Some of the members demonstrated our trade on both saturday and sunday of that weekend.  We had a great site located right close to the blacksmith shop and the large livery stable.  There was lots of public participation, with numerous children trying their hand at some of the aspects of wheelwrighting.  Lots of fun was had by all.

The 2023 WCWA AGM was held at Pioneer Acres in Irricana, Alberta on the weekend of August 11 – 13.2023.  We loved having our AGM at Pioneer Acres, one of the largest agricultural and industrial history Museums in Alberta, as they have so much going on throughout this weekend, which is their annual show where History comes Alive. please  check out the  Pioneer Acres Website

The 2024 AGM was held in Pinedale, Wyoming, USA.  The event was hosted by the Museum of the Mountain Man.  As a main activity the group rebuilt four Sarven wheels belonging to a historic ranch buggy in the museum’s collection. Members were also treated to a VIP tour of the museum and an introduction to the fur trade rendezvous that occurred locally in the first half of the 19th century.

The 2025 AGM was held in Cardston Alberta with the Remington Carriage Museum hosting. Attendees were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s extensive and well equipped restoration shop where lots of information and ideas were exchanged.  Of course, a horse drawn wagon ride was not to be missed.  Ample opportunity was given to exploring the museum’s expansive vehicle collection, one of the largest in North America.
